Every kid drafts 2 rosters a week (3 on any paid plan). Your score is the best of them — no math, no averages. More rosters = more chances to have a great week.
A Scout Card can boost one player on one roster per week. If your kid wants to power up stars on two different rosters, they'll want two different cards. Collection drives strategy.
Cards have limits on how often they can be used, so kids learn to bench their best cards and save them for the big matchups.
PlayGM adapts as kids get older — simpler mechanics and parent-helper flows for the youngest, Cap-mode strategy and advanced trivia for teens. Nobody ages out.

Ages 5 to 17. The app adapts as your kid grows: read-aloud, parent-helper co-play for ages 5–8; full independent GM experience at 9–12; and Cap-mode strategy, advanced stats, and competitive contests for teens 13–17. Nobody ages out — the same account carries a kid from K through high school.
As little as legally possible: first and last initials for personalization, an algorithmic handle (like MightyFox99), and age tier. No names, emails, phone numbers, or GPS data from your child. Parent email is used only for consent and billing, per COPPA.
No. PlayGM has zero open-text communication between kids. Friend nicknames exist (e.g., MightyFox99 (Billy)) but those live only on your child's device and are never sent to our servers — so they can't appear to anyone else.
No. PlayGM is an independent product. We reference pro athletes and teams for identification only, using factual public stats — a well-established practice in fantasy sports. No league logos, team logos, player photos, or wordmarks appear anywhere in the app.
No in-app ads — ever. No display, video, or sponsored placements inside the game. Revenue comes from the optional subscription, card pack purchases, and our gear store.
The player pool rotates through the calendar year. Each week draws only from leagues currently active, so there's always fresh talent — and because kids draft across five sports, there's rarely a quiet week.
Cards are additive, not gating. A kid with zero cards can still draft, compete, rank up, and win contests. Cards add scoring upside — but the draft itself, and the free-tier experience, is complete on its own.
Yes. Subscriptions are month-to-month, cancellable anytime from your app store. Canceling drops you to the free tier at the end of the billing period — your child keeps their collection, their rank, and their history.
